EXCERPT

Richard took a sip from the large paper cup of Mt. Dew and the straw made the gurgling slurp that always signaled that it was nearly empty. He looked at Arvid.
"I believe it's your turn to do the snack run," he said.
Arvid knew better to argue and Richard continued.
"We are going to need sodas, Cheetos, oh and packaged cupcakes," he paused looking pointedly at Arvid. "Well, aren't you going to write this down?"
"I'm sure I can remember three things," he answered and got up from the table to head to the gift shop.
"I'm not so sure," said Richard to him as he headed out the door. "I'll send you a text."
Arvid rolled his eyes and went past the double doors to the basement, down a long hallway, and up a flight of stairs to reach the back area of the science museum. He went past the stored displays and packaged supplies to the door that allowed access to the main hall. Lastly, he pushed past a group of school children to get to the gift shop.
His phone buzzed and he glanced at it.
"Don't forget the Cheetos, Mountain Dew, and packaged cupcakes,” it read.
A second later it buzzed again.
"Your character died when you out wasting time btw," the second text message said.
Arvid had given up, Richard had fallen in the habit of playing his turns in their game, and seemed to delight in killing off the characters he spent weeks developing. He shook his head and went into the store.
The gift shop was very well stocked. Arvid had done this snack run before and had a path already lain out in front of him. He went down past the stuffed dinosaur dolls and science kits to the cooler along the wall and took four large bottles of soda and headed to the counter.
The old and fat lady who normal checked him out was bent over and hidden by the counter. He walked up and unloaded all of the soda bottles.
"Good afternoon, Beverly," he said, waiting for her to stand up.
When she did he was shocked to see, instead of Beverly's gray hair and wrinkles, a stunning young blond girl with a bemused look on her face.
"I thought you science guys would be better at reading name tags," she said, now smiling broadly and pointing at the name tag stuck to her shirt right over her left breast.
Arvid couldn't help but look and noticed that she had a nice left breast, and a damn fine right one too. Heck, the whole chest area on this girl was damn impressive. After a moment he looked back to her eyes and instantly blushed. She had a wry expression and he knew that he had looked far, far too long than he should have.
Abby didn't mind and was surprised with how cute this young man was; under his glasses she could tell he had a handsome face. He was wearing a hideous hoodie with a dinosaur on it, but she bet that out of those dorky clothes there would be a fairly attractive man.
Arvid stammered out an apology.
"S, sorry, I was, I was just looking at your name tag on your breast, I mean your chest, I mean your shirt!"
Abby wondered how such a cute guy could be so shy, had he never been caught looking before? She was tempted to bend over a little bit and give him a look down her blouse at her cleavage just to see if it gave him a heart attack.
