The specific strategy known as the dividend collar is based on the combined use of three elements: stock, options and dividends. By creating a collar and timing it so that dividends are earned monthly instead of quarterly, this strategy creates a double-digit return while eliminating market risk. You will discover how to research stocks to locate appropriate issues, dividend yields, and option positions to make the strategy successful. The dividend collar involves matching of one short call and one long put per 100 shares of stock. Proximity of stock basis and option strikes is crucial to the success of this strategy.
