Book Descriptions:
A child named Ha-Lu was born during the flourishing of the marvelous mayan civilization, in the prehispanic days. Compared to other slant eyed mayan children Ha-Lu´s were big and round as the deers, and he also ran as fast as them. Thats why everybody called him "Little Deer". The newly born baby was crying in his hammock, when a female deer, that had lost her baby deer, came close to Ha-Lu and rocked him with his horns. When the boy felt the breath on his face, instead of being scared, he patted her. Besides the natural gifts that children have when they are born, the deer through a magic bond transmited Ha-Lu the special qualities of the deer. With that special gift, Ha-Lu could turn into a deer whenever he wished. Using that power, the boy went to rescue his father, who had been enslaved by the same tribe who attacked his city. A "Chaneque", or a mayan elf appeared and advised Ha-Lu to go and look for the god Chac-Mool, since he was the only one that could help him. One year later, it is the Chac-Mool who asks the Little Deer to help him against the looting by thieves of arqueological pieces.

This tale recounts the adventures of Little Deer and the Chac-Mool.

This book is a story for children from 7 to 13 years of age and and all adults young at heart.
