This particular lathe manual can become confusing to many people, because the model number was changed a couple of times during production of the same lathe. The reason for the changes comes from the fact that Atlas bought Clausing in 1950 and changed the Clausing 100 Series to and to an Atlas branded 4800 series. Lots of customers of the Clausing 100's didn't want their lathes branded Atlas, and it confused them when they asked for service. So after a few months Atlas re-branded them Atlas/Clausing 100 series lathes until they stopped producing them in 1965. This manual also includes the Atlas/Clausing 111

One other thing is that Clausing made significant changes to the 100 series during it's production run. Below is the gear box and headstock covered in this manual. If you have the V shaped gearbox, this manual should cover your lathe. The gearbox looked significantly different, if it was there at all, on older models.
